Our vision is to de-risk the financially excluded by increasing their access to affordable, fair, and responsible financial services and by strengthening last-mile institutions.

Mission

We are on a mission to provide an easy-to-use scalable risk-scoring and impact-tracking digital tool, which can be used for equipping unbanked and underserved rural population to benefit from formal financial services and for providing credit to the small, micro and nano enterprises.

Our Story

DART™ was initially developed as part of a social fintech start-up, Village Invest Inc, which delivered low-cost, high-quality loans through an online crowd-lending platform.
Having worked with the world’s poorest people for the better part of our lives, we believe passionately that access to credit, coupled with financial literacy, business planning, and the support of inclusive community-owned financial organizations, can transform lives of the borrowers and the communities to which they belong.

2018-2019

Manual field testing initiated in Rajasthan in partnership with SRIJAN

2019-2020

Initiated and completed development of digital tool based on lessons learned in Rajasthan

2021

Validation and testing of data analytics tool in Tamil Nadu

2022-2023

DART™ soft launch. Signed contracts with Tamil Nadu’s Enterprise Innovation Institute (EDII) and Organisation for Development Action (ODA) to conduct pilot for women entrepreneurs in rural areas.

DARTTM is the brainchild of our founder Meena Munshi. Meena has three decades of development experience in the World Bank in designing and managing development programs. She has been a change agent within the World Bank, and has spent the last 30 years testing and scaling up of an innovative, bottom-up and results-focused rural development and livelihood model.

brings in decades of experience in evidence based impact assessments.
